Many people ask if there's a story behind our name, Nukkad. It’s a simple one, tied deeply to our roots and the everyday life of India. My grandmother suggested "Nukkad," a word meaning "Street Corner," popularized by a Doordarshan TV show from the 80s and 90s. It perfectly encapsulates our brand ethos, representing the vibrant, everyday discussions of people on topics from art to politics, over chai and cigarettes.

OUR MISSION?
Well, if we're talking about being in a cool spy mission movie, doing impossible stunts, and delivering cheesy one-liners, count us in! Oh, wait, you meant our mission at Nukkad, right?

Mission sounds pretty serious, doesn't it? We're just a cute brand trying to make stuff that speaks to Millennials and Gen Z. We're all about that relatable aesthetic, and hey, we're not here to break your bank—because, let's face it, we're all a little broke, aren't we?
OUR STORY
The concept for nukkad struck me one hot afternoon in June 2021 as I searched online for a fun, oversized T-shirt. None connected with me; they felt trendy but impersonal. This sparked the idea to create our line of T-shirts, focusing not on trends but on personal connection and representation.

Our first launch was a fusion of popular and classic art—featuring a "Tamasha" movie scene with a Van Gogh-inspired sky, which sold out in thirty minutes, affirming the demand for meaningful, personalized apparel. This success led us to explore further unique combinations, like our Frida Kahlo tribute, blending diverse cultural icons to create something uniquely nukkad.

OUR APPROACH
Our brand is founded on sustainability, a principle often mistaken for mere marketing strategy.

From the outset, we were resolute in producing limited quantities, steadfast even if demand soars. We eschew the path of mass production, opting instead to craft 25 t-shirts including all sizes and 100 pairs of socks per batch—numbers that defy the norms of industrial mass production.

India serves as our production hub, where we ensure equitable pay and foster a healthy work environment, complete with clean facilities for all our employees.
